Jürgen Bertsch has been active in corporate finance advisory and investment banking for more than 25 years. He began his career in general management consulting at Arthur Andersen Group.

As a senior executive consultant Mr Bertsch was involved in numerous complex corporate finance transactions for the East German Privatisation Agency (Treuhandanstalt) and its successor organizations within the last decade. Simultaneously, he took operative management  and special task force responsibilities in a variety of interim situations of Treuhandanstalt companies.

Beyond that he acted as managing partner of a short listed company by the World Bank for international projects for a couple of years.

Mr Bertsch has proven expertise in restructurings, liquidations and trade sale operations as well as in supporting corporate transactions of industrial companies.

He holds a degree in business administration from University of Giessen.

Frank Klaus

For more than 25 years Frank Klaus worked as a self-employed  advisor to medium-sized businesses.

The main focus of his past operations has been restructuring and financing. He has specialised in the sectors “promotional programs” and business start-ups, among other things for Management – Buy – Outs (MBO). He has long experience in the compilation and implementation of business plans.

His know- how lies in the fields restructuring, company valuation and financing of medium-sized businesses. Furthermore he develops fiscally optimised structures for international takeover concepts.

Mr Klaus studied finance (main focus: tax law) in Rotenburg. He holds the title of tax accountant, CPA and a degree as a certified financial planner from the polytechnic in Frankfurt/ Main.

Dr. Gerd Hack

Ever since gaining his doctorate in economics, Gerd Hack has been working as management consultant for national and international firms ranging from Japan via China, Eastern and Western Europe to North America.

During the last 30 years Dr. Hack has been active in the restructuring of medium-sized and large companies as a consultant and responsible managing director on site.

He has supervised cross-boarder M&A transactions in various sectors for more than 15 years. For a decade he has been privatising companies for the Federal Republic of Germany and also acted as special prosecutor for the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

The main focus of Dr. Hack is on cross-boarder sales of companies in distressed situations, which allow him to combine his expertise in restructuring and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Prior to his doctorate he studied industrial engineering at the  Technical University of Berlin.

Jens Kunkel

After his apprenticeship as tax accountant assistant , Mr Kunkel he completed his studies in business administration at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. For the entire duration of his studies he worked at a medium-sized tax consultancy in Frankfurt.

After graduation as Diplomkaufmann Mr Kunkel worked for Bertsch & Associates for several years focussing on Mergers & Acquisitions as well as external controlling before he joined Klaus + Partner in 2007. in 2010 he was accredited as a tax accountant and became a partner at Klaus + Partner.

As a certified specialist consultant for company succession (DStV e.V.) , Mr Kunkel mainly advises Bertsch & Associates´ clients on all aspects of their succession planning process.
